Thomas D. Nann – President and Executive Director
With devotion to faith and prayerful resolutions to help others, Tom founded the St. Paul Employment Ministry April 1, 2008. Since that inception, this ministry, with the full support of the Parish of St. Paul, has now expanded to Stewardship Employment Ministry which will provide support for those who are unemployed, facing an impending job loss, or those whom are underemployed throughout Columbus.
With over 17 ½ years of success as a Business Development Director, Tom works with employers and candidates to provide current and up to date educational, and networking tools to increase exposure and chances of finding gainful employment.
His passion and drive to help others is paramount in his life. As a proud member of St. Paul Parish for more than 12 years, he exemplifies Stewardship by servicing his parish in many capacities. He is a current member of the Pastoral Council, a Captain of ushers, a very proud First Degree Knight of Columbus, has served on the Liturgy Committee, a lecturer, Eucharistic Minister, and works on the maintenance crew for parish grounds beautification, and more.
Tom has been recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives, The Ohio Senate, and Columbus City Council for his devotion to Community Service. He was a two year term Vice-President of the Northland Community Council, a one term President of the Northland Community Council, and a three-year President of the Strawberry Farms Civic Association. He was a 2009 and 2010 nominee for the Diocese of Columbus Catholic Man of the Year.
Jim Whalen resides in Westerville, where he and his wife of 25 years, Becky, have raised their three children, Sean, Danielle and Sarah. They are currently members of St. Paul the Apostle parish in Westerville. Jim is employed by American Electric Power in the Transmission Procurement group. He has a passion for helping others through his volunteer services as well as helping to form this ministry.
Francis X. Fullin – Corporate Secretary
Frank is a licensed attorney in the State of Ohio since 1985. He has served on several non-profit boards of directors and is a long-standing member of St. Paul parish in Westerville. At St. Paul’s he is a member of the choir, a Eucharistic Minister, a Sacristan and a past member of the Pastoral Council. With his wife he teaches Natural Family Planning and he is a deacon aspirant for the Diocese of Columbus. Frank has been involved with the Stewardship Employment Ministry since its inception and has assisted Tom Nann with legal issues and the incorporating of the Stewardship Employment Ministry as a not-for-profit charitable corporation.
Jeffrey C. Brenner, CPA – Treasurer
Jeff is an executive-level accounting and finance professional certified by the State of Ohio as a Public Accountant since 1979. Jeff has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations as treasurer and has been a member of St. Paul Parish since 1984. He is a forward-thinking controller with an outstanding record of leadership and achievement in building talented teams and implementing management and operating controls for growing companies in diverse industries. He also has extensive experience in public accounting arena working with non-profits while working for a regional CPA firm. Jeff has developed projected budgets and set up the accounting system for Stewardship Employment Ministry.
Monsignor John K. Cody, M.Div., JCL - Spiritual Advisor
Msgr Cody, a Priest of the Diocese of Columbus, ordained March 24, 1973 is our Spiritual Advisor to this ministry. Born 9/28/46 in Columbus he is 2nd of five children of Ralph and Grace Cody. He is a graduate of St. Michael Elementary, and Bishop Watterson High School. Msgr Cody holds a B.A from St. Charles Borromeo, M. Div, from Pontifical College Josephinum, Certificate from Christian Institute for the Study of Human Sexuality, and JCL from Catholic University of America. He currently is the Pastor of St. Christopher Parish in Grandview and believes in our ministry wholeheartedly. Msgr Cody's experiences are way too vast to mention them all, but we are more than blessed to have his guidance and his devotion of Christ as a member of our Board of Directors.
Shawn Richard is a member of the St. Margaret of Cortona Parish. He received his Master of Labor and Human Resources degree from the Ohio State University in 2008. Shawn has worked as the Manager of Human Resources for the Palmer-Donavin Manufacturing Company since 1999. Mr. Richard began volunteering for Stewardship Employment Ministry in 2010 and serves as a ministry facilitator at St. Margaret’s.
