We have been blessed to receive a 2012 Focus Grant in the Social Service Cycle distributed by The Catholic Foundation. Our project, Stewardship Employment Ministry, was awarded $3,454. We are proud that the value of this project is being acknowledged and supported.
We are grateful to the donors of our diocese, who contributed to The Catholic Foundation unrestricted funds which allow them to make grants like this available for the greatest needs of our diocese. Please remember that donations of any size may be given to these and other funds for the benefit of our parish and ministry at The Catholic Foundation any time.
The Catholic Foundation's mission is to inspire giving and assist donors to provide for the long-term needs of the 23-county Diocese of Columbus. It is one of the oldest and largest Catholic diocesan foundations in the country, distributing over $59 million in the diocese since 1985. If you would like more information on contributing to existing funds that support our mission, or would like to work on a planned gift of your own, please contact Scott Hartman (shartman@catholic-foundation.org) or Amy Parker (aparker@catholic-foundation.org) at The Catholic Foundation, 614-443-8893.

We are proud to announce that we will be opening a new chapter at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City in January; the exact date for our first meeting is yet to be determined, but we will be helping with our curriculum there.
Also, we feel very blessed, and want to let everyone know how grateful we are, to those who donated to the Stewardship Employment Ministry via The Columbus Foundation Big Give Day. The day raised more than $500 for SEM. Our prayerful and heartfelt thanks to all those who donated to our most worthy of causes!

We have been blessed to receive a Focus Grant in the Social Service Cycle distributed by the Catholic Foundation this year. Through the work of Stewardship Employment Ministry, our program was awarded $2,500.00. We are proud that the value of our ministry of evangelizing and caring for the poor is being acknowledged and supported.
We are grateful to the donors who contributed to the Foundation’s unrestricted funds that make these grants possible. The Catholic Foundation is a non-profit autonomous organization that receives and manages assets to provide funding for parishes, schools and ministries within the 23 county Diocese of Columbus. It is the planned-giving partner of the Diocese, working with donors throughout the Diocese to help them develop giving plans to benefit their chosen Catholic entities, and it invests and manages the assets entrusted to it.
If you would like more information on contributing to existing funds that support our organization, or would like to work on a planned gift of your own, please contact Scott Hartman (shartman@catholic-foundation.org) or Amy Parker (aparker@catholic-foundation.org) at The Catholic Foundation, 614-443-8893.

Today, April 26, 2011, we held another Job Fair, at St. Paul Church. We set a new record! One-hundred forty-seven (147) people were hired today! What a huge success the event was: much thanks to all the companies and volunteers! We had visitors to the Job Fair all the way from North Carolina and Illinois. I am greatly moved because of all the great companies that made it possible to create such change in everyone's lives today! What a blessing. Thank you. - Tom

Please pray for Fr. Raymond Lavelle, who is recovering from a stroke.
Congratulations to Msgr. John Cody, who is on the Employment Ministry board, who was named Pastor of the Year.
Also, Tom Nann, our President and Executive Director, again has been nominated for Catholic Man of the Year.
We continue to speak with Pastors and Pastoral Councils about expanding into their Parishes as well, so join us all in prayer of thanksgiving, and continued successes of helping others!

We are very happy to also announce that effective January 23, 2011, Stewardship Employment Ministry is a part of St. Ladislas, Corpus Christi, and St. Mary's in German Village. We ask for your continued support and prayers as we will now help those on the south side of Columbus realize their dreams of obtaining gainful employment. This is now known as the "Southside Chapter" of SEM and it is also a grassroots attempt to incorporate teaching basic computer skills to this chapter.
I am very proud to announce that St. Christopher Parish AND St. Margaret of Cortona joined into one meeting of our Ministry in October - meetings are held 7 PM to 8:30 PM Monday evenings at Kulp Hall at St. Margaret's. We will prayerfully incorporate our successful programs to help those in that area.
We were very proud and honored to announce that we have two new volunteers to our staff. Mike Meyers will become an educator for the Southside Chapter. Mike has a deep commitment that we share as a ministry and has been going through extensive training for over two months now! Also we will add Shawn Richard to the St. Margaret and St. Christopher Chapter as an educator. Shawn has several years working in the HR field and has been going through his training for several months now...and he and his wife are expecting a child any time now!
So please join us in prayer for the success of our educators as we strive to help more and more people!
